Wayne Harmon

Wayne Harmon has been involved with the Cokeville Rodeo and Cokeville Stock & Saddle Club since its inception. He was one of the original “coffee shop” crew who got together to eventually create the CSSC. Wayne was very active and involved for about 10 years, but to this day, will be there to help out if the rodeo club needs anything.

When the transition from church-run-rodeo to CSSC took place, Wayne was there helping to tear down the old arena, and build the new one. So many of the individuals we have honored thus far played a huge part in that transition…which gives you an idea of just how many people it took to create the arena you and I enjoy so much today.

On top of that, Wayne has worked for the County for 30 years, and often times during that span, would bring in equipment and vehicles to help the club spray down the arena, haul sand, and bring in gravel to the fenced-in area.

Wayne has truly been involved in all aspects of the Cokeville Rodeo. He would help out on the backend with the Timed Events. And let’s not forget that Wayne has competed as a contestant many times in the Tie-Down Roping, Team Roping, Ribbon Roping, Cow Riding, and (hometown favorite) Wild Cow Milking — winning four buckles total (3 Wild Cow Milking, 1 Ribbon Roping).

Over the years, Wayne has helped out numerous ranches during their branding and in many other various capacities. He truly is a giving and serving man and deserves to be recognized for years of selfless labor.

Perhaps his highest honor, however, comes from his good buddy, Justin McKinnon, who said, “Wayne is one of the best rodeo queens that’s ever been in Cokeville.” (I can’t wait to hear the story behind this comment!)

Wayne, it is our extreme honor to include you in our list of Rodeo Honorees. We remember the decades of time and service to our community and we sincerely thank you for that.
